The idea of cooking with the sun fascinates me. Reading about solar cookers makes me start thinking about adapting and enlarging the concept to make a solar heat room for cold weather. This winter, because of the high cost of electricity, we have basically moved into one room of the house and are heating only that room. It hasn’t made much of an impact on my electricity bill but it’s my belief that the utility companies will screw you no matter what so I’m not that surprised. There’s been an emotional benefit to the move into one room, though. It’s cozy. It just feels nice. It feels kind of safe and secluded, feelings that I very much enjoy. It confirms my suspicions that I will be happier with less.
