Pacific Yurts is located in Cottage Grove, OR, where I work and I did an entry on them and included some pictures. I probably have mentioned before that my dream is to build my own cob home but I have seriously considered yurts, also. Since some of the most important pioneers of both types of homes are based here in Cottage Grove, it makes it easy to do research.

That’s a beautiful home! I think my biggest issue would be security, as it looks like someone could just break through the wall if they wanted to. Still, I’m sure it’d be a much more affordable alternative to a traditional house.

A cob house is still my ultimate dream but I think a yurt would be a great second choice.
